Warsaw, June 1942. Aneta, the beautiful wife of a respected lawyer, Karol Holzer, is killed in suspicious circumstances. Rafał Król, an officer of the Blue Police co-operating with the Germans, tries to solve the mysterious murder. Suspicions multiply as one clue after another uncovers the well-hidden secrets of the deceased and disclose unclear connections between her husband and a high-ranked SS officer. Among the suspects there’s also a somewhat eccentric Count Leon Przewidzki, who has a habit of eavesdropping on the visitors to the lawyer’s apartment. During his investigation, Król finds an unexpected ally, Ernst Kluge, a Gestapo commander. Holzer situation becomes increasingly dangerous, while the murderer – still at large – might be ready to strike again…

Warszawa, listopad 1941 roku. W podejrzanych okolicznościach zostaje zamordowana Aneta – piękna żona szanowanego adwokata Karola Holzera. Sprawę tajemniczego zabójstwa próbuje rozwikłać nadkomisarz Rafał Król, funkcjonariusz współpracującej z Niemcami granatowej policji. Kolejne tropy mnożą podejrzenia i ujawniają głęboko skrywane sekrety zmarłej oraz niejasne powiązania jej męża z wysoko postawionym oficerem SS. Wśród podejrzanych znajduje się także nieco ekscentryczny hrabia Leon Przewiedzki, który ma w zwyczaju podglądanie osób obecnych w mieszkaniu adwokata. W toku śledztwa nadkomisarz Król znajduje nieoczekiwanego sojusznika w osobie komendanta Gestapo – Ernsta Kluge. Sytuacja Holzera staje się coraz bardziej niebezpieczna, tymczasem znajdujący się na wolności morderca jest być może o krok od popełnienia kolejnej zbrodni…

Black Mercedes / Czarny Mercedes Director → JANUSZ MAJEWSKI

Director and screenwriter. Born in 1931 in Lviv. Graduate of Architecture at the Cracow University of Technology (1955) and Directing at the Film School in Łódź (1961). He started his career as art director. In the years 1983-1990, he was the President of Polish Filmmakers Association and in the years 1987-1991 – Member of the Cinematography Committee. Since 2001, the President of the Management Board of the Association of Authors and Composers ZAIKS. Professor of film art. In 2002, on the occasion of the 50 anniversary of the Polish Television, he received the “Star of the Polish Television” statuette for his achievements in film and the Television Theatre. Awarded with the Order of Polonia Restituta (2011). Recipient of many prestige awards.
