Classical Sunday Soiree
Classical Sunday Soiree
November 27, 2016 → 4 to 6 pm ← In the ANNEX
~ All ages Welcome ~ Doors: 3 pm ~ Cash Bar
Classical Sunday Soiree is the first event of its kind at Copernicus Center – bringing together performers, friends and families, and music lovers from across the community!
The program will feature members and friends of the Lincolnwood Chamber Orchestra, and is made possible because of the great passion these local performers have for playing music they enjoy! In this informal setting they will perform what they want, how they want. An informal get together, like the Classical Sunday Soiree, allows instrumentalists and vocalists to focus on their music making, get vital feedback from their peers, and dazzle an appreciative audience. For the public, it will be a chance to hear a diverse musical potpourri — and interact with performers in a more intimate way than is possible in the pretense of a normal concert. If you have thought classical music, or a chamber recital is too “stuffy” we invite you to stop by and enjoy a new experience. If you are an aficionado of chamber music, or just want to see serious musicians have a good time, the Copernicus Center has graciously opened its doors! Admission is free, and there will be a cash bar for your pleasure.
Classical Sunday Soiree is presented by American Music Festivals and the Copernicus Foundation. American Music Festivals showcases The Lincolnwood Chamber Orchestra, and is working to create an ongoing performance series at Copernicus Center, serving the Jefferson Park community and an audience stretching throughout Chicago land. Already this year at Copernicus, American Music Festivals has presented the acclaimed “Sir Georg Solti Memorial Festival in Chicago” and “Poland’s Great Composers” at the Taste of Polonia Festival.
