We are continuing discussions with the City and neighborhood regarding race route and permitting to produce a race that will be the pride of Jefferson Park and the whole Northwest Side of Chicago.  There has been tremendous support from the local business community and residents and we are determined to bring this race to Jeff Park.  Thank you for your support.  We will keep you posted on this page & our Facebook Page.

ABOUT THE COPERNICUS FOUNDATION

Copernicus FoundationMission:The Copernicus Center is a community center supported by the Copernicus Foundation for the benefit of metropolitan Chicago and the northwest side communities. Its mission is to promote Polish cultural events in Chicago and to serve the needs of the multicultural communities in Chicago. The Center houses a historic theater, classrooms, and other venue spaces for events and meetings.

Results: Total underwriting for community and charitable causes exceeds $250,000 annually.  The Copernicus Foundation provides local nonprofit organizations, NGOs, and community groups with venue spaces for Meetings, Health Workshops, Educational Events, Flu Shots, Voting, Information Seminars, Election Information, Various Information Fairs, Farmer’s Markets, OSHA safety seminars, ESL classes, Community Christmas programs, and more. The Copernicus Foundation underwrites or supports a MINIMUM of 12 OTHER nonprofits annually.

Our Programs:

1.) English as a second Language classes  2.) Underwriting support for Paderewski Symphony orchestra  3.) Underwriting support – Agata Paleczny Children’s Theaterworks 4.) Underwriting of WOSP event ( last year raised over $195,000 for children’s medical needs. 5.) Sponsor of neighborhood Sunday Farmer’s Markets for Jefferson Park  6.) Sponsor and underwrite local community events ( Aldermanic debates, community meetings, Chamber of Commerce meetings & events, Police Community outreach meetings, Social Security seminars, employer safety seminars, official neighborhood polling location, Flu Shot Clinic, and more…

Target demographics: Community health & information seminars, Community meeting space, underwrite performing art groups & students, Raise funds for children with medical needs, underwrite ESL classes, Support other non-profits via Venue usage

Direct beneficiaries per year: 5000 minimum
