Wilki (Wolves in English), is one of most popular Polish rock bands. Influenced by grunge music at the beginning of their career, they gradually developed their own unique style, combining rock and pop with funk and world music influences. In 1992, they released their debut album, “Wilki,” which became an instant hit. The first single from the album,”Son of the blue sky,” was chosen as the Song of the Year by majority of Polish radio stations and the song’s video clip was broadcasted on British MTV. Wilki’s debut record officially achieved the status of Double Platinum; unofficially the sales are estimated to have reached a million copies.
