For the first time in Chicago, the Mariachi Institute of Chicago is proud to present a Merry-Achi Christmas Concert, the only concert in the midwest. The internationally recognized Mariachi, Sol de Mexico de Jose Hernandez presents a colorful Holiday celebration of Mexico’s Christmas traditions. Experience the wonderful, traditional, classic Holiday Music of the Nut Cracker and other long time Christmas favorites in Mariachi!
This beautiful Mariachi Christmas Concert showcases the tradition Mexico’s Posadas and pastorelas and through a delightful collection of joyful music and dance.
Founded in 1981 by José Hernandez, Marichi Sol de Mexico de José Hernandez band members include:

The Mariachi Institute of Chicago (MIC) founded by Blanca Murillo, is a mariachi conservatory that provides quality instruction in violin, guitar, trumpet, vihuela, guitarrón, harp, vocals.. In addition to providing low-cost instruction to students ages 8 to 16, MIC works to increase performance and teaching opportunities for professional mariachi musicians and create culturally enriching experiences for their audiences throughout the Chicago Land Area.
