Celebrating a Century of Hope, Healing and Home is an evening of life, laughter and love to reflect on the work and legacy of two organizations on the front lines of caring for children in need. Enjoy side-splitting comedy, hear inspiring stories and learn about the unlikely history of a small organization in Chicago that has made an impact around the world.
For over 100 years, LYDIA Home has been serving vulnerable children in Chicago. From its beginnings as an orphanage in 1916 to its top rated treatment that it provides today, LYDIA has always cared for children in distress. In 2002 LYDIA launched its Safe Families for Children program which surrounds families in crisis with a caring and compassionate community. Safe Families recruits and trains host families to provide temporary care for children while their families work through difficult situations. Safe Families for Children has grown to over 100 sites across the country and around the world.
Centennial Celebration → For a party 100 years in the making, we’ve enlisted some very special people to help us celebrate.
Comedian Michael Jr. – No matter where you experience his humor, on-stage, on-line, or one-on-one, you get the same Michael Jr. with humor that creates waves of laughter. Whether as an actor in the #1 box office hit War Room or appearing on The Tonight Show, Jimmy Kimmel Live or at a large church event, Michael Jr. shows up and delivers the funny!
Jami Kaeb – is a dreamer and a coffee lover! She is married to Clint and the mother of seven––five through adoption. It was through a difficult season of waiting that Clint and Jami’s eyes were opened to the foster care community. They became foster parents to three siblings who they eventually adopted. Jami founded The Forgotten Initiative in April 2011.
Roy Patterson – has been serving families and communities in Chicago for more than 40 years. As a Pastor, counselor, community advocate, Community Relations Director for the Moody Bible Institute and the host of 2 national radio programs, we are delighted to have Roy as the Emcee of our centennial celebration
