As Long As I’m Singing – Dennis Tufano

Come along as multitalented singer, songwriter and entertainer Dennis Tufano sings the musical soundtrack of our lives. Dennis is joined on stage with The Chicago Experience, Tim Walkoe and Joe Cantafio. Don’t miss the special evening of music, fun and laughter!

Dennis Tufano, a native of Chicago, was the original “voice” of ‘The Buckinghams’. Debuting in 1965 the Chicago-based group scored with a string of five Top Ten hits in the sixties including, the No#1 ‘Kind of A Drag’, ‘Don’t You Care’, ‘Mercy, Mercy, Mercy’, ‘Hey Baby, They’re Playing Our Song’, ‘Susan’ and ‘Back In Love Again’. The band was inducted into the ‘Hit Parade Hall Of Fame’ and ‘The Illinois Hall Of Fame’. Dennis was recently inducted, as a solo artist, into ‘The California Music Hall of Fame’.

Following his success in the Buckinghams, Dennis was part of the song-writing duo “Tufano and Giammarese” and recorded three albums with Lou Adler’s custom label, Ode Records.

Appearing as guest vocalist he went on to co-write with renowned composer and
musician Tom Scott. With Scott, Dennis performed the original title/theme song for the
long running ‘Family Ties’ television show. (First 13 episodes)

Dennis also wrote and performed with Bernie Taupin, Elton John’s lyricist, on the album,
” He Who Rides The Tiger “. Subsequently he teamed again with Taupin to co-write, coproduce and perform the Farm Dogs album ‘Last Stand In Open Country’.

Back on the road, Dennis joined Olivia Newton-John on her hugely successful tour and was featured, with Olivia, on her HBO Special in two dramatically inspired duets.

As an actor, Dennis has appeared in theater productions in Los Angeles and has worked in film, television, radio & commercials.

He was also a founding member of an improvisational voice-ensemble called the ‘L.A.MadDogs’. This group of actors performed on hundreds of movies and television shows and produced and performed seven “live” radio dramas, three of which Dennis directed, for KMPC RADIO THEATER in Los Angeles.

Dennis produced, directed and shot a documentary in Chicago, ‘Major Hall: Therapy Tuesday’ currently prepared for release.

His performance was featured on, PBS Music Series ‘The Sixties My Generation’, and a PBS special ‘Cornerstones of Rock’ which will be included in the award winning PBSDVD music series.

Dennis has and is currently touring with Brian Hyland, Chris Montez, Jay & The Americans, Jay Siegal’s The Tokens, Peter Noone, The Elegants, The Drifters, BJ
Thomas, Jimi Sohns & The Shadows of Knight, The Cowsills, Ron Dante, The Association, Frank Stallone and more.

Dennis is coproducing and starring in ‘As Long As I’m Singing’ featuring the Music of Bobby Darin and more. Darin’s music spans rock and roll, pop standards, country, folk and the blues. This production presents the music of Bobby Darin from all perspectives: performance, musical arrangements, the orchestra, and above all, the songs he chose to perform and record.
