Mexico’s famous “Queen of Bolero”, Guadalupe Pineda, will be sharing the stage with Chicago’s own Mariachi Monumental de Mexico along with “Cuerdas Clasicas”, as part of the Sor Juana Festival by the National Museum of Mexican Art.

Cuerdas Clásicas is a not-for-profit cultural organization marked by the qualities of troubadours who at times perform in formal dress and tuxedos, interpreting melodies of a clasical and semi-classical nature, and at times perform as members of an Estudiantina, wearing vestments in accordance with the customs of sixteenth century Spain.
