Following the incredible success of our past pastorela productions, Ballet Folklorico de Chicago warmly invites you to our newest edition of Tradiciones de México—a heartwarming event perfect for audiences of all ages.

What is a Pastorela?
A pastorela is a beloved Mexican Christmas tradition—a lively nativity play performed during December that retells the story of the birth of Jesus. Filled with meaningful characters, charming animals, and moments of humor, it’s a cultural celebration that brings communities together just before the holiday break.

In Mexico, this tradition is a cherished annual experience shared with family and friends, and we are proud to continue that legacy here in Chicago. Our production adds a unique twist with vibrant storytelling, lighthearted comedy, and creative flair that will keep both children and adults entertained.

✨ What to expect:
A festive, engaging live nativity performance
Colorful Mexican folk dances representing regions across Mexico

A welcoming, family-oriented atmosphere full of holiday spirit
